Curriculum
Our aim is to help children to achieve
the highest standards of performance in all areas of their
development so that they become as independent as possible. No child
is excluded from any area of the curriculum unless it is to comply
with parental wishes in Religious Education. The staff is aware that
the multi-cultural nature of society provides a great
diversity and richness of personal values, which must be
acknowledged in teaching situations as they arise.
The school follows the National
Curriculum modified to meet the individual needs of each pupil.
Subjects taught include: English, Mathematics, Science, Information
& Communication Technology, Design Technology, History, Geography,
Art, Music, Physical Education, Religious Education, Personal social
& health education, Citizenship and a modern foreign language.
The youngest pupils have a nursery ,
pre-school curriculum based on the Foundation Curriculum and the pre
National Curriculum P Scales.
Students in the Key Stage 4 and Post
16 follow nationally accredited courses which continue to develop
skills but also prepare them for life after school. |
